On Customer Service . . .

What it is and how to make it better

Introduction -

Customer service can be defined as: 

"Customer service (also known as Client Service) is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. " - Wikipedia

"Customer care involves putting systems in place to maximise your customers' satisfaction with your business." - Business link, UK government online page

"The way in which the brand meets its customers' needs via its various different channels." - Yellowpencil.co.nz

"...degree of responsiveness provided by the contractor/supplier to an agency..." Nevada State Purchasing Dept

These, and many other definitions can be applied to Customer Service. I like to define it as:                                                    Keeping The Promise made to the customer, internal and external, by 'The Brand', its products and its services.
